Early Days (1854-1892)
Louis Vuitton did not succeed until just after his death. Vuitton started with flat luggage. This luggage was lightweight, and was bought by France’s Empress Eugénie in its first year of sale. In 1860, Vuitton was forced to relocate, where he expanded due to increasing demand. 7 years later, in Louis Vuitton won a bronze medal at the World’s Fair. In 1871, Vuitton gained ground in the industry although many of his works were getting copied. In 1880, his son Georges married. On their wedding day, Louis gave over control of the business to Georges. Only 3 years later, Louis became a grandfather as Georges son Gaston-Louis Vuitton was born. I can admit I like brand Pepe Jeans. Namely the best reason is, that they produce wearable clothes for ordinary people for everyday. And anyway this clothes aren’t any humdrum or hackneyed rags, but almost each of pieces is properly processed and has own individual style.
For this comming warm season Pepe provides dandyish collection as for women as for men. This ad campaign is represented by Alexa Chung, Boyd Holbrook and Tom Guinness, which personify famed love triangle. However this comparatively hot topic contrasts with light-tuning photos and relatively bored faces of models. After all review for yourselves 😉
This is a new collection spring/summer 2010 by Pepe Jeans with models Alexa Chung, Boyd Holbrook and Tom Guinness. I really like this collection becasue it is so good-looking (combinations of jeans and colourful T-shirts or cream/white jacket) and useable. It is fortunately bright, not dark ! I wish I could possess all the pieces in this collection. ….Photos are made by Tom Munro.
The year is 1973, David Bowie has just released Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars, ´Slades Cum On Feel The Noize´was blaring out on stereos everywhere, Marlon Brando refuses to accept his Oscar as a protest against the plight of native american indians, Mean Streets, Live And Let Die, Paper Moon and Serpico are filling up the cinemas and Evel Knievel is the hero of the moment.
Here is new collection spring/summer 2010 by Mango with actresses Scarlett Johanson. She has been face of Mango since collection fall/winter 2010. Before that face of Mango were sisters Monica and Penelope Cruz. Whole collection reminds me something of vintage style. As you can see it looks like it was made in hotel room. Despite Scarlett rotates one sexi position after another, photos are in cold colours. They are made by photographer Mario Sorrenti and Damian Sanchez, the Creative Director of MANGO styled the shoot which was shot in location in New York City. Hairstyling and make-up was provided by Bob Recine and Stéphane Marais, respectively.
